Background: Off The Grid is a Quebec-based company entirely dedicated to offering eco-friendly training equipment. They developed an innovative spinning bike that converts energy generated by users into electricity. Their products are proudly designed, manufactured and assembled in Quebec.
The spinning bike generator used to convert user-generated energy into electricity had trouble synchronizing to the power line. These delays led to harmonics and electrical characteristics, which, according to certifying agencies, affected the product’s safety and reliability.
Off the Grid, in collaboration with the École de technologie supérieure (ÉTS), produced a report outlining potential improvements in the form of recommendations. Uzinakod was hired to implement these recommendations via an embedded firmware architecture.
I would like to highlight the flexibility, availability and commitment of Uzinakod’s development team to meet our needs. They were able to adapt quickly to ensure that the product was ready to pass certification tests in a shorter time frame than expected.
